Bare Metal / Management
Power controls
Start, restart, or shut down a bare metal server from the cloud console.
Send a power command
Open Baremetal Servers in the cloud console, select your server, and open Power.
| Action | Result |
|---|---|
| Power On | Starts a powered-off server. |
| Graceful restart | Asks the OS to shut down cleanly and restart. |
| Graceful shutdown | Asks the OS to shut down and stay off. |
| Force restart | Resets the server immediately. |
| Force off | Cuts power immediately. |
Save your work first. Forced actions can lose data or damage filesystems; use them when a graceful action cannot complete.
Check the result
Confirm the action and wait for the power state to update. The OS may still be booting after the server reports that it is on.
Reconnect with SSH or RDP. If access fails, check the boot screen in the remote console.
An unavailable control may mean the server is locked, busy, or outside your permissions. Read the explanation in the console.
Powering off does not cancel billing. See Billing to manage the subscription, or the API guide to automate power commands.
See Metrics for power consumption, PSU health, temperatures, and fans.
