Round trips measured from our Chicago facility
0.2 ms to Rithmic’s market-data gateway, under 1 ms to its order gateway, and about 3 ms to the CQG gateway that NinjaTrader Continuum and Tradovate orders route through. Those are the endpoints your platform opens a socket to, measured from the building your server would sit in. CME matches in Aurora, west of the city.
How the figures were taken
100 samples per target, no loss on any of them: ICMP to the market-data gateway, TCP handshakes to the two order gateways. The TCP numbers have 0.3 ms subtracted, which is the measuring host’s own NAT translation delay. Nothing on this page is a cross-connect, a cage in an exchange building, or an exchange session.
One tenant per machine
A VPS host runs a hypervisor that time-slices vCPUs between tenants, so your strategy thread can sit behind another customer’s backup job. A dedicated box has no scheduler above your own OS. NinjaTrader’s chart and strategy threads get whole cores.
Hourly while you test, monthly when you stay
Provision on the hourly cycle, run your platform through a full session against your own gateways, then move the same machine to a monthly or annual term. Nothing is rebuilt and nothing is migrated.
What the platform runs on
- Windows Server and Linux one-click images
- AMD Ryzen configurations for clock-bound platforms such as NinjaTrader
- NVMe local storage for tick databases
- Full root or Administrator, provisioned in under a minute
Transit, uptime and attack handling
- AS55285 is our own network, so a route out of Chicago is ours to change
- A second presence at 350 East Cermak, the metro’s carrier hotel, so traffic has more than one way out of Chicago
- 100% network uptime SLA: 5% of the monthly fee credited per hour of downtime we caused, up to the full month
- 90 days of daily uptime history per datacenter, Chicago included, published at status.serverside.com
- DDoS mitigation inline on the port, rather than a scrubbing centre your traffic is rerouted through

The measured Chicago figures, the venues behind them, and what a dedicated server changes for a trading platform.
Measured from our Chicago facility, 100 samples per target and no loss: 0.2 ms round trip to Rithmic’s market-data gateway, under 1 ms to Rithmic’s order gateway, and about 3 ms to the CQG gateway that NinjaTrader Continuum and Tradovate orders route through. CME is not in those figures. Its matching engine is in Aurora, west of the city, and what we measured is a path across our own network rather than a cross-connect into that building.

Measure the path to your own broker yourself, then compare it with wherever your platform sits today. Take a server by the hour if the difference is worth a live session.
