Overview
This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which Serverside Networks Inc. (“Serverside.com”, “we”) collects, uses, maintains and discloses information collected from users (each, a “User”) of the https://serverside.com website and the Serverside.com cloud console at https://cloud.serverside.com (together, the “Sites”). This privacy policy applies to the Sites and to all products and services offered by Serverside Networks Inc. Serverside Networks Inc. is the party responsible for the personal information described in this policy.
Personal Information We Collect
We collect personal information that Users provide to us directly, including when Users create an account, place an order, fill out a form, subscribe to the newsletter, or contact us. Depending on the activity, this may include your name, email address, phone number, organization name, billing and mailing address, and the content of your messages to us. Users may visit the public website anonymously. Users can always refuse to supply personal information, except that it may prevent them from engaging in certain activities such as ordering a product or service.
Technical Information We Collect
When Users interact with our Sites, we automatically receive technical information such as the IP address, browser name and version, operating system, the pages requested and the time of the request. Server and error logs containing this information are used to operate, secure and troubleshoot the Sites and the services.
Cookies and Local Storage
The website sets a cookie that remembers the language and region you were redirected to, and the cookie consent banner sets cookies that record your consent choices. The website also uses your browser’s local storage to keep details you enter while ordering (name, contact details and billing address) so that an order in progress is not lost, the contents of your cart, your theme preference, and the previous queries you ran in the looking glass tool. This data stays in your browser and is not transmitted to us until you submit a form or an order. We do not currently load analytics or advertising scripts; if we introduce any, they will be controlled by the cookie consent banner. Users may set their browser to refuse cookies or clear local storage; some parts of the Sites may then not function properly.
How We Use Collected Information
Serverside.com may collect and use Users’ personal information for the following purposes:
- To provide, provision, bill and support the services you order, and to communicate with you about your account.
- To respond to enquiries and requests for information, including newsletter subscriptions and requests submitted through the contact form.
- To send periodic and marketing emails, if you have opted in to receive them. Every such email includes an unsubscribe link.
- To verify that form submissions and orders come from a person and to detect and prevent fraud and abuse.
- To improve our Sites and services, using information in the aggregate to understand how Users as a group use them.
- To comply with legal obligations, including tax and accounting record-keeping, and to respond to law enforcement, government officials or third parties when compelled by subpoena, court order or applicable law, or to report or prevent suspected fraudulent or illegal activity. Serverside.com will notify the Customer of such a request where it is allowed to.
Service Providers
We do not sell, trade or rent Users’ personal information to others. We use third-party service providers that process personal information on our behalf, for the limited purposes described above:
- Cloudflare, which hosts the website and provides the Turnstile verification used on our forms. Turnstile sends your IP address and browser signals to Cloudflare to confirm that a submission comes from a person.
- Stripe, which processes card payments. Card details are entered into Stripe’s payment forms and are never stored on our servers.
- Resend, which delivers our transactional email and newsletter and stores the email addresses of newsletter subscribers.
- Sentry, which receives error reports from the website and the services so that we can fix faults. Reports may include the IP address and the request that failed.
- CookieYes, which provides the cookie consent banner and stores your consent choices.
We may also share generic aggregated information that is not linked to any personal information with our business partners.
Where Your Information Is Processed
Serverside Networks Inc. is located in Canada. Our infrastructure and the service providers listed above operate in Canada, the United States and the European Union, so your information may be processed in those locations.
How We Protect Your Information
We adopt appropriate data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of your personal information, account credentials, transaction information and data stored on our Sites. Data exchanged between the Sites and Users is encrypted in transit using TLS.
Retention
We keep account and billing records for as long as you have an active service with us and afterwards for as long as we are required to keep them for tax, accounting and legal purposes. Contact form messages and newsletter subscriptions are kept until you ask us to delete them or unsubscribe. Server and error logs are kept for a limited period for security and troubleshooting.
Your Rights
You may ask us to confirm what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to its processing, or to provide it in a portable format, to the extent that applicable law gives you those rights. A User who no longer has an active service may ask for all of their information to be removed from our systems, subject to the records we must keep by law. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We may ask you to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we will respond within the time required by applicable law. You may also lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in your country of residence.
Third-Party Websites
Users may find content on our Sites that links to the sites and services of our partners, suppliers and other third parties. We do not control the content or links that appear on these sites and are not responsible for the practices employed by websites linked to or from our Sites. These sites and services may have their own privacy policies. Browsing and interaction on any other website, including websites which have a link to our Sites, is subject to that website’s own terms and policies.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
Serverside.com may update this privacy policy at any time. When we do, we will revise the updated date at the bottom of this page. We encourage Users to check this page for changes to stay informed about how we protect the personal information we collect.
Your Acceptance of These Terms
By using our Sites, you signify your acceptance of this policy. If you do not agree to this policy, please do not use our Sites. Your continued use of the Sites following the posting of changes to this policy will be deemed your acceptance of those changes.
