Latency to the Chicago broker gateways

Measured from our Chicago facility, 100 samples per target and no loss: 0.2 ms round trip to Rithmic’s market-data gateway, under 1 ms to Rithmic’s order gateway, and about 3 ms to the CQG gateway that NinjaTrader Continuum and Tradovate orders route through. The two order-gateway figures are TCP handshakes with 0.3 ms taken off, which is the measuring host’s own NAT translation delay.

Those are paths across our own AS55285 network. None of them is a cross-connect, a cage in an exchange building or an exchange session. CME Group matches in Aurora, west of the city, and the brokers’ gateways sit there and at 350 East Cermak downtown.

A server here runs one tenant, so no hypervisor schedules a strategy thread behind another customer’s workload. Run the same ping and traceroute from the Chicago looking-glass node against your own broker’s hostname before you order.
